It is clear from a number of emails, comments and messages that I have received in the last two days that the there is a strong groundswell of opinion to stage a National peaceful demonstration to let our Government know that the people of Australia are not going to stand by without requiring our "leaders" to do everything within our great country's power to to bring Schapelle home.

i, like many, am tired of sitting and watching this injustice continue. i like the idea of some sort of peaceful demonstration. personally, i believe that a day of demonstration in every capital city, much like the anti-iraq war demonstrations, would be very effective in convincing our elected officials that bringing Schapelle home is in their best interests too.
i would be gratful if i could be informed of any
developments via email.

Hi,
We are a married couple in Melbourne and we are angry. Not violent angry just angry.
If someone is organizing a protest, for the first time in our lives…we will attend one.

Right, enough idle chatter. This has not helped Schapelle Corby one bit. Time to get off your butts and DO.
We need a good organizer here to stage a protest. I suggest the Flinders Street Railway area as it’s central to tram & buss stops, and exposed to the public. It also happens to be on Earthcam which is seen around the world, but that’s just one idea. Bringing ‘Blindfolds’ would help. White ‘Tea shirts’ with slogans would let the public know what were on about. Any non slanderous signs, etc. Schapelle is nearing her 11th hour. It’s too late for talk. So please post those Phone Numbers if your in the Melbourne district and quickly choose an organizer, or talk someone into it. Never mind ‘work’ or the ‘weather’, you’ll get over it. We need a time, a place, and confirmation by anyone willing to attend. I think ALL states should do the same. MOVE !
What do you think? Is a public demonstration what is needed right now?? (It might make us feel good to be doing something but, will it make the type of DIFFERENCE that will help Schapelle?)
Would you attend a peaceful demonstration to demand our Government take effective steps to bring Schapelle home? When and where would a demonstration have the greatest beneficial effect? Would you be prepared to assist in the organisation of a demonstration? Do any of you have contacts with press, TV, public relations people? What does the labour party think about a demonstration - or the liberal party/democrats/greens for that matter?
"Greens GO YELLOW for Schapelle - We don't just care about the environment, our people matter as well!! ...I could really get behind that!!
Where is Peter Garrett on this?? Peter, are you out there on the internet - you are now one of our political leaders, what is your take on Schapelle?
Gough, are you there? What are your thoughts?
Bob, you are a man of the people, where are you on this?
Malcolm, you are a man of great knowledge and experience in International affairs.. you have a great profile overseas - can you do something to help - you are highly respected by overseas leaders and you still do great work in the international community.
You know, I and many others, notably Neville Wright from Esk have written many letters to many political leaders and the responses to both of us can be counted on 3 or 4 FINGERS.
The issue for the Government is maintaining a proper "posture" in relation to Indonesia versus the growing concensus of the people of Australia that Schapelle's human rights are being violated. Just because what is happening to Schapelle is "legal" in Indonesia, does not mean that it her human rights are not being violated. Australia would not subject Indonesians to the the conditions under which Schapelle is being incarcerated and paraded like some barbaric medieval witch hunt.
